Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Middough, you will be responsible for technical engineering designs and mechanical lead responsibilities, executing designs and engineering tasks, leading resources in multi-discipline design projects, and taking technical ownership of mechanical design in a consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct technical work as the mechanical lead on assigned projects.
  • Work with clients and internal team members to scope and execute design work according to schedule, budget, and execution plan.
  • Review engineering deliverables for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and design specifications.
  • Develop mechanical design solutions within a 3D design environment and lead 3D design model reviews.
  • Develop system designs, size equipment, create technical specifications, and perform technical evaluation of bids.
  • Plan and lead in collecting field observations and perform detailed engineering calculations.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and vendors to exchange project information.
  • Collaborate with Client and Project Manager to identify scope changes through formal change management procedures.
  • Review vendor/supplier technical documentation and provide technical responses to field Construction RFIs.
  • Communicate project execution and planning updates to team members.
  • Coach and develop engineering and design staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
  • PE License or EIT (with goal to obtain PE) preferred.
  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering work experience with expertise in at least two specified areas.
  • 7 years of engineering design and collaboration experience in a 3D environment using relevant software.
  • 2 years of experience executing project work as a design team leader.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft products for engineering, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
