Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic II position at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital involves performing facility and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This full-time role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from Wednesday to Saturday, offering a competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Document maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment like beds and wheelchairs.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
  • Perform routine general maintenance functions such as carpentry and snow removal.
  • Respond to emergencies like leaks and power outages as directed.
  • Respond to building occupant requests in a timely manner and keep them informed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
  • Inspect and repair fire doors and smoke partitions.
  • Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.

Requirements

  • Driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills including CMMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information
