Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging, committed to sustainability and providing a diverse range of products. The Maintenance Mechanic role in Elizabeth, NJ involves maintaining and repairing production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal safety and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all production machinery and facility related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate damaged machinery and equipment to determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Populate and close out work orders with pertinent information related to repairs.
  • Provide safe general facility maintenance and repair.
  • Provide safe modifications and upgrades/rebuilds to production equipment.
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and machine manuals.
  • Actively participate in assigned safety-related initiatives.
  • Rebuild pneumatic components and mechanical assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with all hand and power tools.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook Email.
  • Strong Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, & Pneumatic skills.
  • Experience with 3 phase and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience working with AC and DC drives.
  • Experience with chillers, air compressors, HVAC systems, and boilers.
  • Core competencies include Customer Focus, Action Oriented, Decision Quality, Functional/Technical Skills, Integrity and Trust, and Peer Relationships.
  • Other competencies required include Organization/Time Management.
