Overview

At Globus Medical, the Staff Model Maker is responsible for prototype fabrication in support of product development, ensuring safe and reliable operation of machines and measurement equipment while working in a fast-paced environment focused on improving the quality of life for patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CNC and manual machining equipment to fabricate models, prototypes, test parts, and low-volume production components.
• Train, develop, and mentor new hires in machining processes and equipment operation.
• Participate in design meetings and provide technical input to support product development.
• Ensure all machines and measurement equipment are calibrated and maintained in compliance with quality systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines for accurate operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with process and tooling development to improve production processes.
• Adhere to company policies and compliance requirements.
• Represent the company professionally and uphold ethical business practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in machining, tool and die making, or model making; experience in the medical device industry is required.
• Extensive experience operating CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM machines.
• Experience with Mastercam or other related CAM software is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven creativity and ability to contribute to design improvements.
• Strong self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with team collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information

• Working Hours: 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.
