Overview

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time, early career Mechanical Engineer to join their team in King of Prussia, PA, focusing on the research, design, analysis, and development of components and systems for space products.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, analyze, and develop components, assemblies, and systems for Lockheed Martin Space products.
  • Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses.
  • Generate and release drawings using CAD software.
  • Be a member of an integrated product team, interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers.
  • Represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards.
  • Perform design related activities including designing structural components and assemblies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical modeling tools, such as Solidworks, CREO, or CATIA.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret clearance; must be a US Citizen.
  • 1-2 years professional experience.
  • Understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials.
  • Experience with additive 3D printing parts.
  • Desire to work with propulsion, structures, mechanisms, thermal analysis, and Lockheed Martin Space.
