Job Description

Overview

Maxwell Social is a private, high-end social club in TriBeCa seeking an experienced Curtains & Roman Shades Fabricator to create, tailor, and assemble high-end custom curtains and window treatments for their space.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate heavy custom curtains, lined interior curtains, functional Roman shades, valances, and drapery panels from technical drawings or exact room measurements.
  • Work with luxury interior textiles, heavy curtain fabrics, linings, sheer fabrics, and blackout interlinings.
  • Execute precise measurements, pattern cutting, and edge/hem finishing on large-scale curtains.
  • Coordinate on-site fit checks, curtain hanging, and curtain hardware alignment with the lead installer and management team.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience specifically in custom curtains, interior drapery, and Roman shade fabrication.
  • Mastery of industrial sewing machines, heavy-duty stitching, and hand-sewing techniques for heavy curtain fabrics.
  • Deep technical understanding of custom curtain construction, pleating styles, curtain tracks, and curtain rod hardware integration.
  • Ability to calculate fabric yardage and work independently with zero margin for error on finished curtain dimensions.
  • Must provide a portfolio or clear photos of past custom curtains and Roman shade installations.
