Overview

The Technician - Truck Shop is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues on customer equipment, including engines and brake systems. The position requires a valid driver's license and offers competitive pay rates based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems and perform minor to complex electrical/mechanical repairs on customer equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Work with diagnostic software and follow troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to identify and order necessary parts.
  • Perform mechanical repairs, including complete disassembly and rebuild.
  • Complete all work orders and time sheets accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of three years related experience, or a Technical degree and certification in a diesel repair program.
  • Full set of basic hand tools, including torque wrenches and toolbox.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
  • Experience with Detroit Diesel or any major heavy-duty OEM engine repair/rebuild.
  • Familiarity with electrical diagnostics, including use of a multimeter and understanding schematics.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Office applications is helpful.

Additional Information

  • Position requires joining International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 15C.
  • All benefits are administered through the Union, including Medical, Pension, and Annuity.
