Job Description

Overview

The Senior Technician R&D position at Stryker involves overseeing laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and providing technical guidance to junior technicians. The role emphasizes compliance with safety standards and aims to improve lab efficiency and service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operation, maintenance, and audit readiness of assigned laboratory areas.
  • Serve as the primary asset owner for assigned lab equipment, overseeing maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and technical training to junior technicians.
  • Lead the fabrication, qualification, verification, and validation of complex test fixtures.
  • Independently execute development and verification testing with limited oversight.
  • Ensure accurate, compliant documentation by following Good Documentation Practices.
  • Manage laboratory logistics, including inventory control and proactive supply purchasing.
  • Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve lab efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25-40 lbs.
  • Ability to interpret test protocols, technical manuals, and supplier agreements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment.
  • 2-year Associate’s or Technical Degree in an engineering-related discipline (preferred).
