Overview

IntePros is looking for a Mold Maker to join a growing medical device/manufacturing client in Tempe, AZ. The role involves supporting the Tooling Design Department by designing tools for manufacturing facilities and providing operational support for molds and dies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support existing tooling.
  • Provide good centerline spacing layout for experimental molds, commercial molds, MTDs, and devices with little to no supervision.
  • Design experimental molds, commercial molds, MTDs, and devices with little to no supervision.
  • Coordinate tooling orders for manufacturing plants.
  • Support client plants and engineering departments with tooling issues and best practices.
  • Assume responsibility for various assigned projects to improve product quality and tooling designs.
  • Collaborate with fabrication shops and elastomer manufacturing facilities to verify and optimize tooling designs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop best practice standards.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology trends, materials, and design/analytical software.
  • Follow FDA, cGMP, ISO, and other applicable regulations.
  • Load and unload raw materials and equipment and operate machines as instructed.
  • Start and monitor machine operation to commence production and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform quality control and follow appropriate reporting and documentation procedures.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between work areas.
  • Use mechanical documents and engineering drawings for production dimensions.
  • Read common hand measuring tools and inspect parts to ensure specifications are met.
  • Instruct fellow employees and assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Advanced in using SolidWorks.
  • Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications.
  • Good understanding of machining and fabrication equipment and methods.
  • Familiar with cGMP, ISO, and FDA standards.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and PDM Pro.
  • Ability to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies.

Additional Information

  • 5% travel requirement: Up to 13 business days per year.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
