Job Description

Overview

Amtrak is seeking a High Speed Trainset Machinist Technician to inspect, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and components. The role emphasizes teamwork and the ability to train others, contributing to the safety and efficiency of the railroad.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, or replace components and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Determine required corrective actions and causes of failures.
  • Train members of their craft and other trainset mechanics.
  • Work in a team environment and perform other required tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be Work Keys certified.
  • Successfully completed High Speed Trainset training course.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
