Overview

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is seeking candidates for the Bldgs Millwright-First Cl (1151) position, which involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various electro-mechanical equipment within the transportation system, contributing to reliable and efficient services in the Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, disassemble, repair, or replace various mechanical equipment such as cranes, hoists, and elevators.
  • Erect scaffolding and perform rigging as required.
  • Locate electrical trouble and diagnose using electrical testing devices, repairing as needed.
  • Manufacture, install, and repair parts such as bushings, bearings, and gears.
  • Comply with all safety and security policies and report any safety concerns.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license or equivalent.
  • Must have three years of relevant full-time work experience in mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
  • Successful completion of trade school curriculum may substitute for up to one year of work experience.
  • Must have experience in cutting and threading pipe up to two inches in diameter.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment and performance tests.
  • Must have knowledge of regulatory agency codes and requirements.
  • Will be required to possess or obtain hand tools as designated by the position's tool list.
