Overview

The City of Philadelphia is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Technician specializing in mechanical repair, responsible for performing equipment repair, maintenance, and inspections on various vehicles and machinery. Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment repair, overhaul, replacement, and maintenance work on engines and related components.
  • Conduct safety and emission inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Guide lower-level maintenance personnel in proper equipment operation and repair techniques.
  • Use diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of experience in automotive maintenance for entry-level.
  • Two years of experience or an associate's degree in Automotive Technology for intermediate level.
  • Four years of experience in the automotive trade for full performance level.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Possession of a PA State Inspection's License for intermediate level.
  • Possession of an emissions control license within six months of appointment for full performance level.
