Lamb Weston is a leading manufacturer in the food industry, providing a range of products enjoyed by customers worldwide. The Fab Mechanic II position involves assisting with fabrication, assembly, and installation to maintain equipment and enhance operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fabricating metal structures and process piping.
• Make modifications and perform upkeep on existing equipment.
• Assist with line designs and provide feedback on proposed changes.
• Perform basic welding and fabricating duties.
• Operate and maintain metal fabrication equipment and tools.
• Review plant equipment needs with maintenance crew and management.
• Repair, overhaul, fabricate, disassemble, reassemble, and move equipment.
• Assist maintenance and production personnel in problem-solving.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for welding.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner with accurate records.
• Minimize downtime by creating operational efficiencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification preferred.
• Lock-out/Tag-out certification is required.
• 1-year related experience in fabrication and welding required.
• Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer operation knowledge and data entry skills required.
