Overview

Build your future as a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs at the Fort Mifflin Readiness Center. In this role, you will take on a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks that help keep facilities safe and functional.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks involving carpentry, painting, electrical work, masonry, and plumbing.
  • Check building systems such as HVAC, alarms, generators, and automated controls.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and functional interior and exterior areas.
  • Use and maintain tools and machinery needed for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds work.
  • Assist with vendor communication and monitor contracted repair work.
  • Follow safety rules and report hazards or incidents to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Additional Information

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch period.
  • Work schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Travel may be required.
  • You will not have the option to telework in this position.
