Overview

The PEI Project Inspector role involves field-based inspection and integrity oversight for Pressure Equipment Integrity activities across construction projects, supporting a major integrated energy organization. The position is suited for experienced inspectors familiar with ASME, API, AWS, and PEI practices, aiming to enhance inspection quality and contractor compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute field inspections for piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves, supports, and anchors in accordance with Inspection Test Plans.
  • Witness and verify NDT, PWHT, pressure and leak testing, material traceability, and welding documentation.
  • Monitor contractor work for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and workmanship requirements.
  • Manage inspection hold and witness points and document acceptance against defined criteria.
  • Review MDRs, test packs, redlines, as-built documentation, certificates, and turnover dossiers.
  • Identify nonconforming work and manage NCRs and punch items through verified closure.
  • Participate in project walkdowns, mechanical completion, systemization, and commissioning-readiness activities.
  • Verify inspection records and material traceability are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate inspection activities across Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning, and Operations.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and contribute lessons learned to improve ITPs and field execution.
  • Enforce PTW/LOTO requirements, identify field hazards, and exercise stop-work authority when necessary.
  • Support safe, compliant, right-first-time project turnover to Operations.
