Overview

Rugged Robotics is a fast-paced start-up focused on empowering the construction industry through automation. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work on designing and prototyping robotic solutions to enhance construction services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, evaluate, and test product solutions for construction customers.
  • Design rotary and linear motion actuators, enclosures, and cable harnesses for custom electrical components.
  • Use SOLIDWORKS to craft parts, construct assemblies, and create well-dimensioned drawings using GD&T.
  • Make informed engineering decisions by creating simulations, running tests, and conducting analyses.
  • Engage and collaborate with vendors to refine designs and deliver hardware on time.

Requirements

  • Experience with electro-mechanical or mechanical systems from prior internship, project, or lab research.
  • Passion for creating reliable products that exceed customer expectations.
  • Enjoy detailed part design including material selection and optimizing designs for manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, building, and debugging.
  • Enthusiastic about learning new techniques and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
