Overview

The Maintainer will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems under supervision, including refrigeration systems, cooling towers, and building management systems, while also handling related work at various facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment diagnostics and repair, emergency response to equipment failure, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Conduct general mechanical room maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, masonry, and HVAC.
  • Engage in related work as required by the NYBG at on-site and off-site facilities, including special projects and events.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED, certificate from trade school in HVAC/R or 3-5 years in a related position in the HVAC/R industry.
  • A Type II EPA Certification for reclamation of refrigerants.
  • A Valid driver's license is required.
  • A NYFD Refrigeration License is preferred.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time role, Sunday through Thursday, 12AM - 8 AM.
  • Evening and afternoon shift work is required.
