Overview

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Machine Operator 1 position involves operating various production machines and performing routine operations. This role is essential in supporting the manufacturing process and requires U.S. citizenship for access to specific information.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of production machines including CMM, polish wheel, grinding machines, and EDM.
  • Read and interpret process sheets.
  • Deburr and clean parts.
  • Make minor offset changes with oversight.
  • Utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and document results.
  • Complete Daily Walk Around (DWA) and utilize communication log.
  • Move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment.
  • Transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product at rate per standard work.
  • Carry out tasks not specifically listed to support department objectives and develop skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficient with use of machine tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Aptitude for mathematics, including ability to read blueprints and work from drawings.
  • 1+ years of machine operator experience preferred.

  • Hiring for 3rd shift (Sun-Friday 10pm-6am) but may be required to train on a different shift.
