Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC.
  • Clean, lubricate, and service a variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and hydraulic devices.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, and paint walls and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate maintenance operations and recommend upgrades.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems.
  • Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
  • Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or related fields.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, and building automation systems.

Additional Information

  • Shift schedule: M–F (1–10PM)
  • May be required to work extended periods of time without relief during emergencies.
