Overview

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials, operating over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. The Repairman I role involves assisting in the operation of stone processing plants and performing maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of the stone processing plants.
  • Check conveyors, screens, and crushers; report operating problems and oversize stone.
  • Start and shut down plant equipment as necessary.
  • Perform general clean up around the plant.
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments, inspect and grease/lubricate plant equipment.
  • Proficiently operate the plant.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and capability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant and quarry equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
  • Awareness of safe work habits while working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in outdoor and indoor industrial environments.
  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting operational needs.
