Overview

KDC is a leading custom formulator and manufacturer of various personal care and industrial products, employing nearly 4,800 people across North America. The Machine Mechanic position involves inspecting and maintaining production equipment to ensure productivity and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required daily maintenance on machines.
  • Perform set up and wash down of equipment in compliance with company protocols and cGMP’s.
  • Conduct ongoing inspections of process production to ensure machines are functioning properly.
  • Assess and identify any machine performance or safety issues and seek resolution.
  • Record all inspections, tests, repairs, and preventive maintenance in the machine maintenance log.
  • Disassemble equipment as required for maintenance, inspect damaged parts, and repair as necessary.
  • Clean up work areas after job completion and prepare machines for the next job.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in maintaining Liquid Tube fillers, Volumetric Fillers, Cappers, Coders, Labelers, Transfer Pumps, and related filling equipment.
  • Familiarity with tools required to maintain and repair machines.
  • Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of machine wiring and electrical components.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual background is a plus; must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to interact effectively with related departments.
