Overview

Our client, a Fortune 250 global medical technology company, is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support its Materials & Characterization R&D laboratory in Franklin Lakes, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career science or engineering professional with experience in polymer/materials characterization, laboratory testing, and analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bench-level engineering tests and/or research experiments under the direction of the Lab Manager.
  • Conduct experiments evaluating the feasibility of concepts or technologies used in new product development or product revisions.
  • Perform polymer and materials characterization/testing using applicable laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Document testing activities, experimental results, observations, and findings.
  • Prepare technical reports related to laboratory testing and experiments.
  • Support Materials R&D laboratory workflows, including test requests and assignment completion.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized laboratory environment.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and established laboratory safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Follow local, state, federal, and company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support quality assurance principles through appropriate communication, training, and education.
  • Follow applicable product development, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Follow established processes to support timely stakeholder engagement and completion of assignments.
  • Participate in training opportunities to develop technical skills.
  • Review, learn, and disseminate relevant technical lessons.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Science field.
  • 0–5 years of relevant experience in a technical discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with polymer characterization/testing instruments and equipment.
  • Training in laboratory safety and procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
