Overview

The Maintenance Technician III will install, maintain, and repair plant infrastructure, utility systems, and production equipment with little or no supervision, including performing electrical work such as troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Works with outside services, inspectors, and government officials to ensure compliance with necessary codes and laws.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring for plant and building operations.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems to support plant and building operations.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plant equipment, pumps, and motors to meet specifications.
  • Performs general facility maintenance including flooring, sheet rock, painting, and HVAC systems.
  • Performs general exterior maintenance including building upkeep, parking lot maintenance, and landscaping.
  • Handles general record keeping, filing, and ordering of materials and supplies.
  • May perform duties such as delivery and pick up of tools and equipment.
  • Works with hazardous materials including storage and shipment.
  • May specialize in areas such as HVAC systems, fire alarm, security, and phone systems.
  • Completes any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of related experience in industrial maintenance.
  • 5 or more years of electrical work experience.
  • Training in the electrical and mechanical trades.
  • Knowledgeable of the NFPA 70: National Electrical Code.
  • Must be able to interpret and demonstrate proficiency using schematics and blueprints.
  • Must have completed a hazardous waste management course.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • EPA Certification is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises and confined spaces.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.
  • Standing: 75%, Sitting: 25%.
  • Lifting and pushing up to 70 pounds.
