Overview

As a Plumber at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in maintaining essential plumbing systems that support a safe and reliable healthcare environment. This full-time position requires hands-on expertise in plumbing to ensure the functionality of water, heating, gas, and drainage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures throughout the Medical Center.
  • Maintain critical heating, water, gas, and drainage systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on plumbing fixtures, piping, and associated equipment.
  • Identify and repair leaks, defective pipes, and damaged plumbing components through soldering, caulking, and replacement.
  • Repair low-pressure steam and condensate return piping and install pipe assemblies and plumbing fixtures as needed.
  • Work with a variety of valves and fittings, including pressure relief, check, float, gate, globe, thermostatic valves, unions, sleeves, bushings, reducers, steam traps, and strainers.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Conduct observations of general maintenance concerns and communicate issues requiring attention to the Lead Plumber or appropriate leadership.
  • Respond to emergency plumbing needs and occasional off-hours scheduled repairs to support uninterrupted Medical Center operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other skilled trades professionals and assist in other maintenance disciplines as needed.
  • Deliver timely and efficient building services that support patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, including hazardous conditions within the environment of care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or completion of a trade school program.
  • 5 years of practical plumbing experience.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
  • Preferred: Certified Plumber's License.
