Overview

At Nestlé Health Science, the Mechanic B is responsible for maintaining and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure efficiency and prevent malfunctions. The role requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and electronic skills, and emphasizes safety and adherence to operational procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and influence associates on safety-related issues and industrial safety practices.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for problem-solving projects.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Coach others on the operation of machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery, perform diagnostic tests, and assess the need for major repairs.
  • Provide emergency repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service.
  • Construct and fabricate parts using tools and specifications for electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot control cabinets and replace components as needed.
  • Inspect, repair, and test machinery using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain plant utility systems such as boilers and air compressors.
  • Keep the work area and maintenance shop organized and clean.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Mechanical/electrical trade background or Journeyman or equivalent technical school background.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS is strongly recommended.
  • Technical degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of CMMS.
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Advanced mathematical and reading skills.
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to use standard tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles and ability to use electrical tools.
  • Ability to operate machinery such as lathes and welding machines.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
